I really enjoy shooting events and especially SCA events! I have talks to collaborate with other SCA photographers in the future and I’m excited to start working with more clients! Emma on the Sandy river by nicholas Jackson

Summer is here!

...and flying by quickly. Luckily I have got the change to do a shoot this last week with Emma (@littlegreen1998). It's easy to forget just how gorgeous Maine is when you live here. My Dad is from Farmington and I went there regularly as a kid to see my grandparents. So when Emma suggested doing a shoot on the Sandy river, I was all for it.

This was Emma's first photo shoot and she did great! she took a little bit to warm up to the lens, but after that, it was all natural. I knew we were going to do a lot of walking so I went light as far as gear went.

I used the Canon 80D and my ninfty 50mm, Even shooting raw my Sandisk 64Gb memory card and Neewer battery grip easily got me through the day.

Interested in working with me? shoot me a message! I'm currently accept TFP swaps and Shoots.

Spring is nearly here! by nicholas Jackson

The snow is finally melting, the birds are singing, it's light out when I leave for work at 06:30 in the morning. Spring is nearly here. Winter in Maine is a long, cold test of endurance but when the snow melts and green pops up everywhere... It all seems worth it. I really didn't do much with photography over the winter because I don't do much over the winter. I like to work as much overtime as I can so that I can enjoy my time off in the summer and enjoy the beautiful weather. Luckily, spring is nearly here and I was able to dust off my camera and go outside. I was happy to wander down to Portland for an impromptu photo shoot with Jenny (@sinbun1). The weather was a little cooler then we were hoping for but so nice compared to the last few weeks. I'm very excited to start shooting more and am actively looking for more talent to work with in the near future! If you're looking to build up your portfolio, have an event you want to be covered, or want family pictures done. get in contact with me. I'm happy to help.

Shot on the Canon 80D with the "nifty 50" or kit 18-55mm.

Surprise! I'm not Peter Parker! by nicholas Jackson

Hello! If you're here, you're probably from PAX East 2018. Did my cosplay fool you? No?.. oh... Ok. That's fine. Anyway. You're here for pictures aren't you. It's fine. I'm a better photographer then a cosplayer.

If you're looking for photos then keep up with my Instagram! I have them linked on this page, but if that's to much, just click here. I'll be posting pictures all during PAX to instagram, but if you want to see the full collections, those will be on my facebook page, here. I'll try and collect peoples information as I go, but if you see yourself or someone you know please tag them! I would love to give all the people credit for their work!

Thanks!

Nicholas.

P.S. I'll be posting pictures to this blog post as well. While you're here, take a moment to check out my other work and give this page a share!

The cold never bothered me anyways. by nicholas Jackson

I live in Maine. Maine is cold 9 months out of the year. This means that most of the time I'm shooting in the cold, and subjecting my models/clients to the cold too. Meghan has been my most recent victim of the cold. The BadBokehCreative IG looks like a very cold place right now. With Winter well and truly here, the IG is going to look like a winter wonderland for a while.

I'm excited to work with new people in the snow. It's bitter cold today, but the glossy film of ice on pure white snow is gorgeous. The road dirt hasn't had time to soil it. I'm excited to get in contact with people and get some great photoshoots going.

The Beginning of Bad Bokeh Creative! by nicholas Jackson

20171130-IMG_0134.jpg

I've been learning more and practicing photography for a couple months now. I really enjoy working with the people, capturing everyone's good side, and having a social creative outlet. Recent events have really pushed me to start doing more with my creative outlets. As much as I love my work, I see many people that are burnt out and hate the job. Not only that, but I want to start creating more content. Not only photos but shooting videos, making short films, Creating graphics, podcasting, educational content, flying my drone like a boss... well, at least flying my drone.

Anyway, Bad Bokeh Creative is going to be the platform for my creative endeavors. If it starts becoming a thing that I attempt to pay the bills with than I'll try and create an LLC for it. Until then I want to learn more, create more, and use this as a way to grow and meet people. This Blog, in particular, will be my free for all blog, so don't expect any reason behind it...

Thanks for reading!

Nicholas.
